Dierks Bentley and violin aficionado Lindsey Stirling teamed up for a truly fantastic performance of "Riser" at the 2015 CMA Awards.

Bentley poured his heart and soul into his vocals as he stood behind a microphone, in front of a simple, fiery-looking backdrop, and sang the song. Stirling was perched next to him on a raised platform, in a glittery dress.

Stirling, known for her choreographed violin performances (no easy feat!) has amassed over one billion views on her YouTube channel and has released three successful albums. When Bentley and Stirling's collaboration was announced, it was one of the most unique partnerships on the list -- and the two artists did not disappoint.

"Riser," the title track of Bentley's 2014 album, is an important song to the singer-songwriter.

“The whole time I worked on this album, the goal was just to get to this song as a single," he explains.

"… It’s not a song for the dead, it’s a song for the living," Bentley reflects. "It’s a song of resilience."

The country star is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year at this year's awards show. Last year, he received five nods and walked away with the trophy for Music Video of the Year.
