Dierks Bentley is premiering the video for his new single, 'I Hold On,' and he's taking readers of The Boot behind the scenes for a look at the filming of the new clip.

The song is from his forthcoming album 'Riser.' The highly personal and autobiographical song needed just the right video to do it justice.

Filmed by director Wes Edwards in Nashville and over the course of a weekend of tour dates in Texas, the video for 'I Hold On' follows a young musician who is trying to balance his climb in the music business with the personal values he holds dear.

“It was really important to me that this video capture the story of this song…my story.  But it also needed to take on the more universal themes that the choruses cover,” Bentley says. “The lyrics were written from such a real and emotional place, and I put a lot of pressure on making sure this video held up to what Brett James and I wrote that day.  I hope when people listen to it, they raise their beers up, but this time for the bigger idea of what we all stand for as country music fans…faith, love and freedom."

The full video for 'I Hold On' debuts on Wednesday (Oct. 30) across all CBS digital properties, but readers of The Boot can watch the clip above for a fascinating glimpse at how the filming came together.

'Riser' is expected to drop in the early part of 2014. Bentley will headline at the Tropical Nights: Boots in the Sand getaway in February.
