Dierks Bentley's "Drunk on a Plane" music video has won the Video of the Year trophy at the 2015 ACM Awards.

The Academy of Country Music announced the news in a tweet prior to the ceremony broadcast.

"Drunk on a Plane" is Bentley's second No. 1 single from his chart-topping Riser album, which was released last year. The success of the tune was undoubtedly propelled by the hysterical video, which shows Bentley alternating between acting as a pilot, with a '70s mustache, and partying in the airplane.

Directed by Wes Edwards, the video for "Drunk on a Plane" first appeared on the comedy website Funny or Die, marking the first time a a country music video appeared on the site.

“We added some of this footage to the screens for tour, and I have a hard time not turning my back to the crowd to watch it myself ... so many hilarious moments,” Bentley says.  “There are a few subplots working underneath the main story that totally crack me up ... if you watch it a couple times, you start to pick up on more funny details. Wes did an incredible job ... again!”

This is Bentley's first ACM Awards win for Video of the Year. He has six more nominations at this year's awards ceremony, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.
