LeAnn Rimes’ Ex-Husband Dean Sheremet Speaks Out About Her Affair

LeAnn Rimes' first husband, Dean Sheremet, is finally speaking out about his ex-wife's affair with her now-husband, actor Eddie Cibrian.

The former dancer, who now works as a chef, admits he was blindsided by the news that she was cheating on him with her 'Northern Lights' co-star.

"The affair was, I mean, of all the things that I could have ever imagined would have happened, I never would have thought," Sheremet admits to to Access Hollywood. "You have that assumption that the person that you're with would never do something like that. How close we were, I just never saw it coming. If anyone would have seen it, I thought that I would have."

Sheremet says that Rimes broke the news to him over the phone, telling him that a magazine “may or may not have a picture of me and Eddie kissing," he recalls. "It unfolded from there."

The hardest part, he says, was watching his loved ones have to face the drama that was being played out in the public. “My mom’s going to the supermarket and it’s got me and LeAnn and all this controversy," he notes.

The 32-year-old, who married photographer Sarah Silver in 2011, acknowledges that there were some flaws in their seven-year marriage. "We were so intertwined. I was husband, I was father, I was manager," Sheremet notes. "There were so many different roles, and it was hard to juggle all of those things when you just want to be in love with someone."

Still, Sheremet insists that  everything worked out the best for everyone in the end. "It's fine because I've really laid low during the whole thing," he maintains. "It's part of my story and it's the reason that I get to do awesome cooking segments. Whatever it is that gets me in the door is fine. I'm really a chef!"

Sheremet adds that he feels no ill will towards his former wife, even though they no longer speak. "I have no animosity toward her," he says. "I have nothing but love for her, and I really wish her the best. But we don't really talk that much. There's not really a need to. I don't really know what we would talk about."

They may not have any communication anymore, but Rimes clearly hasn't forgotten about her first husband. She included a song they wrote together, 'God Takes Care of Your Kind' on her recent 'Spitfire' album.
