Dean Miller Releasing New Album in December

Country singer Dean Miller hasn't had an easy time breaking into Nashville's scene, but with the release of his new album, ''Til You Stop Getting Up,' he's picking himself up by his bootstraps and getting back in the game.

Miller will release the album as a four-song digital EP through online retailers, as well as a full-length album sold on his website. ''Til You Stop Getting Up' marks Miller's first release since Koch Entertainment closed in 2005 and left him without a label.

“I have definitely had my share of ups and downs in the music business," Miller says in a press release. "For a few years, I had completely given up on myself. I let the voices of other people and myself tell me my dream was over."

But Miller, who has written songs for Eric Church, George Jones, Trace Adkins and others, came across the title track of the new release while going through old songs. The track centers around a man who is suffering from a string of failures when he runs into an old prize fighter who tells him, "You ain't a loser 'til you stop getting up."

"That phrase hit me like a ton of bricks. I had stopped getting up," Miller -- whose father was 'King of the Road' singer Roger Miller -- explains. "In that moment, I decided that I was the only one standing in my way. I decided to record again.”

''Til You Stop Getting Up' is set for release on Dec. 10.
