David Nail, Wife Catherine Welcome Twins

Congratulations to David Nail and his wife, Catherine Werne: Their twins are here!

According to a press release, the couple welcomed their children early on Saturday morning (Dec. 12) at a Nashville hospital. Son Lawson Brent Nail was born first, at 7:44AM CT, followed by daughter Lillian Catherine Nail at 7:45AM CT. Mom and babies are "doing great."

"No words can describe the feeling," Nail and Werne say. "Beyond worth the wait. We are crazy in love with them both."

The country singer and his wife, a second grade teacher at a Nashville-area public school, have been married since 2009. Lawson and Lillian are their first children, and while Werne is used to being around kids, both she and Nail say that having two of their own will be an adjustment.

“... Having two right off the bat is gonna be an experiment,” Nail notes, “but, hopefully, the good Lord blesses us with ability to care for them.”

Nail and Werne told The Boot in early November that they were prepared for the twins' arrival but that they wouldn't be picking out names until they were born.

“We haven’t really settled on names …,” the new mom said at the time. “It’s hard with two.”

Added Nail, “We kind of want to look at them and make sure they look like a Matt or a John.”
