Darius Rucker Brings Keith Urban Out to Party in the Rain

Cheers were deafening as Darius Rucker interrupted his own set at Capitol Records' third annual Street Party Wednesday night to announce a big surprise for the thousands of fans gathered on Nashville's Demonbreun Street: his buddy Keith Urban stopped by to jam with him on a few songs. The two played a rousing cover of the Steve Miller Band's 'The Joker,' along with Keith's 'Raining on Sunday,' an appropriate song choice given the light drizzle showering the audience. Keith's impromptu appearance was preceded by a lively set from Darius that included several tracks from his brand-new album, 'Charleston, SC 1966,' along with hits that put him on the country map like 'Alright' and 'Don't Think I Don't Think About It.'

The night opened with Nickelodeon 'iCarly' star Jennette McCurdy, who also did a meet-and-greet and signed autographs for people who brought school supplies to benefit Middle Tennessee's PENCIL Foundation. The crowd was interspersed with little girls and preteens wanting to catch a glimpse of the star.

Up next was newcomer Troy Olsen, who was overjoyed at performing on Demonbreun -- a special street for the 'Good Hands' singer. He recalled making that turn onto the street nearly every day to write songs before signing a deal with Capitol Records. It brought home a lot of memories for the Arizona native. Troy performed to a large and enthusiastic crowd many of the songs from his EP, including 'Summer Thing,' 'Tumbleweed' and a song he wrote for Tim McGraw, 'Ghost Town Train.'

Luke Bryan ran onstage to an energetic and loosened-up crowd, and showed that a country man can rock it just as good as any hair band from the '80s! His lively set included 'Rain Is a Good Thing,' 'Do I,' 'Country Man,' 'All My Friends Say,' as well as his current single, 'Someone Else Calling You Baby.'

Newcomer Walker Hayes joked he was "closing" the show, as he performed a late-night set at Nashville's Tin Roof, a popular music industry hangout located in the heart of Demonbreun Street. He sang his current single, 'Pants,' as well as several other tracks from his upcoming debut album for Capitol Nashville.
