Darius Rucker Brings ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over)’ to 2013 ‘CMA Country Christmas’

Darius Rucker showed off his amazing vocal chops with his performance of 'Happy Xmas (War is Over)' on 'CMA Country Christmas' Monday night (Dec. 2).

The singer was joined onstage by a large children's choir, and Rucker seemed to get lost in the emotion of the song. Dressed in a well-fitting black suit, Rucker clearly got the message of the song, and gave what will certainly be remembered as one of the more memorable performances of his career.

'Happy Xmas (War is Over)' was written by John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono. It was penned as a response to the Vietnam war, but has since appeared on dozens of other holiday albums, including by Sarah MacLachlan, Andy Williams and Celine Dion.
