Husband-and-wife singer-songwriter duo Darin & Brooke Aldridge are premiering their cover of “Someday Soon” exclusively for readers of The Boot.

Written in 1965 by Canadian songwriter Ian Tyson, “Someday Soon” has been recorded by Tanya Tucker and Crystal Gayle, among others, but the version recorded by the Aldridges brings a uniquely twangy bluegrass vibe to the classic tune.

“Brooke always loved the song "Someday Soon," from Judy Collins' version to Suzy Bogguss' version -- but we'd never heard a bluegrass version before," Darin Aldridge tells The Boot. "It was one of those tunes we loved singing and playing in our living room when it's just the two of us. It's one of those songs that we felt people would love hearing once again.”

“Someday Soon” appears on Faster & Farther, Darin & Brooke Aldridge’s forthcoming new studio album, their seventh as a duo. The album features appearances from legendary musician and former Doobie Brothers member John Cowan, Pat Flynn of New Grass Revival and country icon Vince Gill.

Readers can press play below to hear "Someday Soon;" Faster & Farther is set for release on Feb. 10 and available for pre-order via a number of services. Following the record's release, the Aldridges have a busy touring schedule set up, including a performance on the main stage at Merlefest in April.
