What a roller coaster week for Dan + Shay. Just days after competing for their first Vocal Duo of the Year nomination at the 2014 ACM Awards, the duo spent part of their day in a Nashville hospital after singer Dan Smyers was injured in a car accident on Wednesday (April 9).

The singer broke his wrist in the accident and spent part of his morning at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He updated fans via Twitter.

Photos showed his wrist in a soft cast.

“Missing my guitar already,” he tweeted.

It's a down spot in an otherwise celebratory week for the duo, who just learned that their debut album, 'Where It All Began,' debuted at No. 1 in its first week on the charts. Their debut single, '19 You + Me,' is also climbing the charts.

Smyers didn't have much downtime to recuperate. The duo are slated to resume their opening slot on Hunter Hayes' We're Not Invisible Tour on Thursday (April 10) in Southaven, Miss., with more shows scheduled for the weekend.
