Singer-songwriter Crystal Yates is debuting her "Hell on My Soul" music video exclusively on The Boot. The video, shot in Spicewood, Texas, features co-writer Kylie Rae Harris as one of the main characters.

In the "Hell on My Soul" clip, Harris tries to overcome the emptiness she's feeling with a one-night stand -- but she feels even worse the next morning. Cameron Smith shot and directed the music video, which readers can watch above, and the bar scenes were filmed at the historic Poodie's, a bar founded by Willie Nelson's former road manager.

"For years, I had struggled with temporary fixes that left me broken and more empty. My [hope] with this song and video is to expose struggles, in the light of day, to promote true healing that comes from a place of love and grace ... for yourself and others," Yates tells The Boot. "In the safety of love, grace and the desire to change is where I find true healing."

"Hell on My Soul" comes from Yates' third release, The Other Side. Yates and her husband, multi-instrumentalist Will Yates, began recording the project in early January, nearly eight years after she was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and the record follows her journey to take control of her health and other aspects of her life.

"I don’t know all the answers, and there are some hurts I will have the rest of my life, but I have decided not to mask them or fill them with anything but love and grace," Yates adds. "I have decided to let grace and mercy cover my mistakes, as well as the mistakes of others that have caused me hurt. I have decided to look at the world through [the mindset that] I am a loved child of God ... It is the only path that finally has brought healing. All the masks were just 'hell on my soul;' they never worked, and they never will."

Yates recently premiered another song from her new record, "Already Yours," exclusively on The Boot. Fans can purchase The Other Side on iTunes.
