Surprise! Craig Wayne Boyd is a married man.

According to TMZ, the Season 7 The Voice winner married his fiancee, Taylor Borland, on April 28 at the courthouse in Franklin, Tenn. The website reports that Boyd's assistant and two of Borland's family members were in attendance, and that the couple plans to throw a party celebrating their nuptials at the end of 2016. On Facebook, Boyd confirmed the news by sharing TMZ's post; although he notes that they got "a few facts wrong," he does not specify which details are incorrect.

Boyd and Borland first met in December of 2014. The singer proposed last June, but that news, too, remained a secret until the end of August.

“She is the one that helps me get away from all of the craziness and keeps me grounded,” Boyd said at the time. “I had thought of a lot of different ways of asking her to marry me, but I thought, what better place to do it than after a show, when we were just there hanging out with my band family in June."

On Dec. 31, the couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter, named Dakota Lynne. Boyd has a son from a previous relationship -- and the little boy wholeheartedly approves of Borland.

“The first time he met her, he was in the backseat of the car, and she was flying back home, and he said, ‘Da da, can we keep her?’” Boyd recalls, “and I said out loud, ‘Yes, we are going to keep her, buddy.'”

Following his The Voice victory, in March of 2015, Boyd headed into the studio to work on his first post-The Voice album. Before that, he was performing in Las Vegas, as the opening act of Rascal Flatts‘ Vegas Riot! residency.
