The Spirit of Blue Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to officer safety in the law enforcement community, have named Craig Morgan as their celebrity spokesperson.

“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line each and every day to keep us safe,” Morgan says. “I’m honored to be joining Spirit of Blue to help bring attention to their sacrifices and how we can help protect our men and women in blue.”

The singer spent almost 20 years in the US Army and Army Reserves, and has also worked as an EMT and a sheriff's deputy, which is why his involvement is so vital to the foundation.

“What makes Craig the perfect spokesperson is his big heart for those who serve in law enforcement, and the fact that he served as a deputy sheriff himself. He knows the joys, struggles and safety concerns that go along with the job,” Ryan T. Smith, Executive Director of the Spirit of Blue Foundation, says. “It doesn’t hurt that he is also a great musician.”

Morgan isn't wasting any time easing into his new role. He will perform on Aug. 19 at the Grand Ole Opry, during a special law enforcement segment of the show. He will also lead the law enforcement tribute as attending officers are honored and the Spirit of Blue awards safety grants to agencies in and around Nashville.

The Spirit of Blue Foundation is offering a sweepstakes for a lucky fan to win tickets to the Opry show. Enter the contest here. In addition, the Opry will donate five dollars to the Spirit of Blue Foundation for every ticket purchased for the show, using the promo code "SAFETY."
