Craig Morgan is sharing a few details about how he injured his shoulder, resulting in his unexpected surgery last month. The United States Army veteran says it's all because of an encounter with MMA fighter Dan Henderson.

“I was in San Diego in between shows, had a day off. Dan Henderson’s a friend of mine; he has a training camp out there,” Morgan reveals to Taste of Country.

“I went to work out with him, and in the process of picking the guy up to slam him on the ground, his weight and my weight fell on my elbow, and it dislocated my shoulder and tore everything away from the bone.”

While the 49-year-old enjoys dabbling in fighting and other extreme sports, he has no plans of quitting his day job

“I ain’t considering doing it for a living,” he insists. “I just get in there and play for fun. You never know when you might have to fight."

Morgan had to cancel a few of his shows to recover from his surgery, but is now back on the road. He performed at the Taste of Country Music Festival this past weekend, and will head to Colorado and Wisconsin later this month. His upcoming shows include an appearance at Country Jam, which takes place in Grand  Junction, Colo. from June 19-22.

The 'Wake Up Lovin' You' singer will also return to his hometown of Dickson, Tenn. on July 20 for his eighth annual Celebrity Off-Road Trail Ride and Concert on July 20.
