Craig Campbell Announces Fellow Celebrities for Fourth Annual Celebrity Cornhole Challenge

Craig Campbell is Fight Colorectal Cancer‘s national spokesperson, and he will host the Fourth Annual Craig Campbell Celebrity Cornhole Challenge during CMA Fest in downtown Nashville.

Campbell's father lost his battle with colorectal cancer at the young age of 36, and the singer holds the event in honor of him to help raise awareness and funds for colorectal cancer education, research and prevention.

The singer reflects, "When he passed away, I didn’t really know what was going on. They didn’t really tell me much about it, very secretive, but the older I got, it was like, ‘What did he have?’ ‘How did he die?’ ‘When did he get it?’ When was he diagnosed?'” Campbell recalls. “And then when I got married and started thinking I was going to have a family of my own, I really started to say, ‘Well, let’s think about this: My dad wasn’t around because of that disease; how can I circumvent this disease in my life so that my kids have a father longer than I had a father?”

The cornhole tournament, taking place Tuesday, June 7th, pairs artists with fans that bid online for the chance to play with them. It's conducted in a bracket style -- and the non-celebrity winner receives a commemorative cornhole board at the end. This year's celebrities include Jerrod Niemann, Mindy Campbell, Michael Ray, Canaan Smith and Campbell, with more to be announced.

“We’ve been so blessed over the past three years with the success of my celebrity cornhole tournaments, that we’re gonna do another!” shares Campbell in a press release. “The event gets bigger and better every year. It makes me smile to know that we are raising so much money for research and awareness of this terrible disease.”

Other items up for auction include a Brett Eldredge package complete with tickets and meet and greets, a backyard barbecue with Campbell, a Cadillac Three package, a Dolly Parton package, an autographed Jake Owen poster a hat from Greeley Hat Works, prints and more. All proceeds from the event benefit Fight CRC.

It wouldn't be a Campbell event without music; following the tournament, Campbell will take the stage to perform for the annual Music City Gives Back concert.
