The country music community rallied around Craig Morgan on Monday (July 11), after news broke that his son Jerry was missing following a water tubing accident and when, on Monday evening, the 19-year-old's body was recovered. A number of artists used social media to send their love, prayers and condolences to the singer and his family.

Martina McBride, a mother of three, notes that "as a parent, my heart breaks for this family," while RaeLynn writes, "What a tragedy. I'm so sorry." The guys of Trailer Choir let Morgan know "if you need us for anything, we are here for ya," and Craig Campbell asked his followers to "[s]top what you're doing and say a prayer." Search parties began combing Kentucky Lake near Mason’s Boat Dock and Marina in Waverly, Tenn., at about 4PM on Sunday (July 10), after Greer and a friend had an accident while tubing. Both Greer and his friend were wearing life jackets when they fell into the water, but Greer never resurfaced. Five boats worked the water overnight, and a full-scale search resumed early Monday morning; search crews found Greer's body late on Monday.

Jerry Greer recently graduated from Dickson County High School and planned to play football for Marshall University in the fall. He is survived by his parents, Morgan and wife Karen; sister Aly and brother-in-law Ryan; brother Kyle and his fiancee Chelsea; and brother Wyatt.

“The family is grateful for the outpouring of support,” a statement from Morgan’s reps reads in part, “and requests prayers at this time as they privately mourn this terrible loss.”

Greer’s funeral arrangements are pending.
