Poll: Which Country Star Would Make the Best Santa Claus?
What if Santa Claus was a country music star?
There’s already plenty of great country Christmas music, but think of how cool it would be to have a Santa Claus of our very own in the country genre. He’d hand out guitars and banjos every year, and we could all sit around on Christmas Day and have a monster jam session.
Charlie Daniels seems like a jolly enough fellow, and he has a head start on the beard, too. He also stages Christmas 4 Kids ever year, so he probably already has extensive toy knowledge. Plus, imagine how cool it would be if Santa came down the chimney and then busted out into a crazy fiddle run.
Kenny Rogers has been spreading Christmas joy on tour for years, and he’s also got that twinkle in his eye that you just can’t fake. And with his penchant for re-invention, Christmas would always be a new, fun experience — he’d show up in a cool new sleigh, or surround himself with younger, more energetic elves for a seasonal shake-up.
Trace Adkins might seem like a stretch, but he released one of the coolest country Christmas albums ever this year, and besides, just imagine that big, booming voice exclaiming, “Ho ho ho!”
Alan Jackson might not quite have the look, but close your eyes and picture him with a big white beard and it’s a different story — plus he’d probably leave hit songs under the tree every year, he’s got so many of them.
Zac Brown, on the other hand, would be a different kind of Santa — a little bit of an edgier, hipper take on the Man with the Bag, if you will.
