Country Songwriters Reflect on Earning Cuts By Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and More [PICTURES]

Every great artist begins with a great song. But while the singer often receives the most recognition when a song becomes a hit, the songwriters too deserve much of the credit; after all, it’s they who spend their days in writing rooms, crafting the perfect lyrics and melodies.

The Boot caught up with a number of Nashville songwriters to find out how it feels to hear their songs on the radio. The tunesmiths featured in the photo gallery above have earned hits with artists such as Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and more; flip through the gallery to read their thoughts.
