Colt Ford fans have a big reason to check out the new movie Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser: The country rapper is making his movie debut in the film.

Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser is the sequel to 2001's Joe Dirt, once again starring David Spade as the titular mullet-wearing, music-loving character. Ford appears in the movie to sing his song "Diggin'."

“When David Spade reached out about performing “Diggin’” in the sequel, I was stoked," the Georgia native says. “The original Joe Dirt is hilarious and is still one of my favorites. I’m a big fan of David Spade.”

In Joe Dirt 2, Spade's character "embarks on another epic journey, this time through the recent past, the heartland of America -- and his own mind -- to get back to his loved ones," according to a press release. The film, which also stars Christopher Walken, Brittany Daniel, Dennis Miller, Patrick Warburton and Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, is available for viewing exclusively on Crackle. It is the first-ever made-for-digital sequel to a major motion picture.

The 44-year-old Ford, who has performed with everyone from John Michael Montgomery and Jamey Johnson to James Otto and Eric Church, got megastar Keith Urban to record "She's Like" for his recent Thanks for Listening album.

“When I played him that song, before the second chorus started, he was already singing along,” Ford says. “I was like, ‘Yes! I got him. He likes it.’ So he recorded it, and it’s really cool. It’s a cool song.”

Ford will be releasing a brand-new EP, As Heard on TV, shortly. Fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will receive an instant free download of his single "Money Fish."

Ford is spending much of the remainder of the summer on the road; a list of all of his upcoming shows is available on his website.
