Cole Swindell fans now have two reasons to celebrate. The 31-year-old, whose first headlining tour kicks off next week, will now have new music to share at his concerts as well.

“I'm always writing, and I have lots of songs that I want my fans to hear. As a songwriter that's what you want, but everything can't always make it onto your album, so I decided the best way to release this music was to put together the 'Down Home Sessions' EP,” Swindell says of the five-track project. “The start of my Down Home Tour seemed like the perfect time to put this collection together for the fans, not that I need an excuse to thank them for all the support they have given me over the past year.”

It's been a whirlwind year for the Georgia native. In addition to serving as the opening act on Luke Bryan's That's My Kind of Night Tour, he also released his self-titled debut album, had two No. 1 hits ('Chillin' It' and 'Hope You Get Lonely Tonight') and received his first CMA Award nomination, for New Artist of the Year. So kicking off his first headlining trek seems like a fitting way to wrap up 2014.

“I feel so fortunate that country music fans and country radio have embraced me in such a huge way. It’s what an artist dreams about,” he says. “I’ve been lucky enough to get a jump start performing alongside Luke Bryan in front of massive crowds, and while I wouldn’t change anything for the experience I’ve gained so far, I know I still have a lot of work to do on the road.”

Swindell will release his 'Down Home Sessions' EP on Nov. 17 on Warner Brothers, and it's available for pre-order via iTunes. See a track listing below, and find a list of all of his upcoming concerts here.
