Wednesday night (Nov. 5) at the 2014 CMA Awards, New Artist of the Year nominee Cole Swindell treated fans to a taste of his first hit, 'Chillin' It.'

Dressed casually in a button-down shirt, black jeans and a Georgia Southern baseball cap, the 31-year-old performed in the round on a small stage in the crowd. He punctuated his brief performance with the memorable lyric, "Long as I'm rocking with you, girl / You know I'm cool with just chillin' it."

Like many New Artist nominees at the CMAs, Swindell did not get to perform his entire song. After the chorus, Swindell stopped singing and announced, "I want to thank all the people at country radio who support our music." The broadcast then cut to a video package of Radio Station of the Year winners.

'Chillin' It' was the song largely responsible for getting Swindell to the CMAs. The platinum-certified single hit No. 1 on Billboard late last year.
