They may not be speaking, but the Civil Wars won Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards on Sunday night (Jan. 26).

The duo won for their song 'From This Valley,' topping a field of nominees that included Kelly Clarkson with Vince Gill, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban, and Kenny Rogers with Dolly Parton.

John Paul White and Joy Williams were still flying high from the success of their debut album when they abruptly canceled a European tour in November of 2012, citing irreconcilable professional differences. They have not appeared together in public since, but that didn't stop their self-titled sophomore album from debuting at No. 1 upon its release last August.

White accepted the award on behalf of the duo.

“I want to apologize to Dolly Parton for depriving her of anything at all,” he joked, calling her a hero of his. He thanked his wife, four kids and even their plumber, but pointedly did not even mention Williams.

The duo previously won the same award for the song ‘Barton Hollow’ in 2011.
