Singer/actor Christian Kane got a double thrill recently when one of his heroes, John Schneider, appeared with him on his TNT series, 'Leverage.' Not only did he get to spar with John on the show, he also got to sing one of his songs with the former 'Dukes of Hazzard' star as well, something that should give Christian bragging rights for a long time to come.

"John sang my song on the show," Christian tells Zap2it. "We both kind of sing it. It was amazing to have somebody of that caliber, one of my childhood idols, singing my song. It's an honor for us to trade punches, and then for him to sing my song and come onto 'Leverage.' What do you say about that? I'm actually at a loss for words right now. As a five-year-old kid I used to sit in front of the TV -- I never missed 'Dukes of Hazzard,' not once. It was me and my dad's show. Who didn't want to be Bo Duke? There's not a lot of people in the world, if any at all, that can say later in life that they got to fight their childhood idol. It's just an amazing experience for me."

Christian was a bit surprised when he found out just how deep John's country roots go, and hopes to work in some songwriting time with the actor/singer soon. "First of all, Schneider used to live with Johnny Cash. He wears Johnny Cash's jacket that he gave him, on our show. He toured with Waylon Jennings and George Strait. I gotta be honest with you, I didn't realize until we were filming how big of a country singer John Schneider is. I'd absolutely love it if we could record or write together. He's still very well respected in the music industry and Nashville. Everybody just loves the guy. We'd probably have to write it on the golf course, but we'd do it."

Christian's new single, 'The House Rules,' is due out in September.
