Chris Young Recalls Shooting Sexy ‘I’m Comin’ Over’ Music Video
Chris Young's debut single and title track from his upcoming album, I'm Comin' Over, recently reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, undoubtedly propelled at least in part by its sexy music video, which shows Young and his female co-star acting out the tune's lines, including "I'm comin' over, runnin' every red light / To hell with the closure, save it for another time / Try not to think about you, but it ain't workin' / Why put out a fire that's burnin'? / I'm comin' over."
"That was fun," Young tells The Boot of shooting the steamy video. "It was interesting, because it was a night shoot. I’ve done two of those: We start at 3PM and end at 6 in the morning.
"The last one I did, everybody left there going, ‘Oh my God, please let this be the last shot.’ This one, we knew we were getting such good footage, it was like, ‘I know we should be done, but let’s grab a couple more things here,'" the singer explains. "Everyone was really energized about it. All the crew. Even people who were standing around being a part of it. It’s one of the favorites I’ve done."
"I'm Comin' Over" was written by Young along with Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge, and David McClister, who also did all of the photos for the record, shot the video.
"It all has the same theme and the same feel," Young notes. "I’ve been laughing about the fact that it’s obviously a guy who edited the video, because it’s, like, maybe two seconds of me singing and then the shot of the girl’s butt. It’s a phenomenal video, and she was awesome to work with, too. She was really, really cool.
"That was one of the biggest things," Young adds. "People kind of sleep on how important it is to have somebody as a co-star in a video when it’s a video like that that’s very personal and supposed to be emotional and sexy. If you have somebody that’s a pain in the butt to work with, that’s not a lot of fun. She was great. I’m just really, really thrilled with how the video came out."
