When Chris Young heard Cassadee Pope sing at a guitar pull in Florida in 2014, neither of them envisioned the significance that the evening would have for both of them in the near future. Young, blown away by Pope's vocal chops, asked her to record "Think of You" with him, and their collaboration led not only to a No. 1 single but to a close relationship that resulted in Young and Pope becoming tourmates, neighbors and fast friends.

"You have no idea what you’ve done for me, for my spirit, my career," Pope told Young at a recent media event in their honor. "Getting to sing this song with you, when I may not have been the obvious choice at that time, you’ve completely given me that resurgence that I wasn’t sure I would get again. Yes, it’s been an absolute dream to sing with you -- you’re one of the best singers I’ve ever heard, hands down -- but even more importantly, you’ve become one of the best friends I could ever ask for. Your love and support have meant so much to me."

The two were just getting to know each other when they shot the video for "Think of You," which made them both realize how much they had in common.

"When we did the video, we didn’t really know each other that well at that point," Pope recalls. "My favorite part was the coffee scene, where we had to stare at each other and say random things to each other. I think that was kind of when we were like, ‘Okay, we can hang. This is a cool chemistry.’

"We were just being goofy together," she adds. "It was a nice look fast-forward into how the tour was going to be, which has been awesome."

Interjects Young, "At one point, they were like, ‘Okay, you do have to look a little more serious.' But like she said, that was a cool glimpse forward into our relationship out on the road, on tour, being able to hang out, be friends. It just makes it so much easier when you have someone on tour with you that you really like."

The I'm Comin' Over Tour launched in the fall of 2015 but has since been extended to run through the end of 2016, with Pope joining Young on all of the dates. Additionally, Dan + Shay will come with Young and Pope in September and October, while Dustin Lynch will open November and December shows.

"When it’s under your control as an artist and you have full run of everything that’s happening, every place that you go, that’s a lot of fun, and it’s one of my favorite things about touring," Young explains. "I’ve hung out with all of those guys in multiple different settings, and we’re all friends. It’s just going to be a lot of fun for me. I’m looking forward to it."
