Charlie Worsham is gearing up for the release of his sophomore album, Beginning of Things, with the release of a brand-new single, "Cut Your Groove."

Worsham co-wrote 10 of the 13 tracks on Beginning of Things, including "Cut Your Groove." The Mississippi native penned his new single with Oscar Charles; it's Track No. 8 on the record.

“A lot of the time, you won’t be on top / But when you fall off the charts, don’t let it stop you / 'Cause part of the charm is the crackle and pop and the hiss,” Worsham sings in the upbeat "Beginning of Things." "There's a song for the taste of your first kiss / A tune for the blues you feel when you miss / The one you love but can't be with / It's a crazy trip ..."

Worsham tells People that "Cut Your Groove" is "my theme song." He adds, “Of all the songs on the record, that’s the one that, even now, I need to play for myself to remind me of perspective."

"["Cut Your Groove"] is a pep talk you can give yourself,” Worsham explains. “It says no matter who you are or where you are in your life, there is no other person on the planet now or in the future who has the unique story you have to tell ... Sharing your story is priceless.”

Beginning of Things is set for release on April 21; the project is available for pre-order via iTunes. Worsham will kick off a spring tour with Brandy Clark on April 6; more information on that trek can be found at CharlieWorsham.com.
