Charlie Daniels' 2018 Volunteer Jam will be a tribute concert in his honor. The annual event has been dubbed Volunteer Jam XX: A Tribute to Charlie, and initial details for the show were revealed on Thursday (Dec. 7).

Volunteer Jam XX -- the 20th Volunteer Jam concert -- is set to take place on March 7, 2018, at 7PM CT, at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Artists who have signed on for the so show far include Alison Krauss, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Blackberry Smoke, Bobby Bare, Chris Janson, Chuck Leavell, Eddie Montgomery, Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, the Oak Ridge Boys and Ricky Skaggs; of course, Daniels and his band will also perform, and additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Charlie has had an enormous impact on American culture through his dedication to supporting our troops, founding the unique Southern sound that we know and love, and creating the unforgettable Volunteer Jam legacy,” says Keith Wortman, CEO of Blackbird Presents, which is helping produce the show. “I am honored to be producing this year’s Jam alongside Charlie’s longtime manager, David Corlew.”

Daniels' first-ever Volunteer Jam took place back in 1974, on Oct. 4, at Nashville's War Memorial Auditorium. The event was supposed to be a one-time thing -- a show that would be a live recording session featuring Daniels and some of his famous friends.

"[The] one-time happening ... took on a life of its own and [became] known worldwide as the Volunteer Jam," Daniels says in the release. "I am extremely honored and excited to have this year’s Jam documented by Blackbird Presents. Gonna be a great night at the Volunteer Jam!"

The Volunteer Jam serves as a fundraiser for the Journey Home Project, a military and veterans organization co-founded by Daniels and Corlew. Tickets for the 2018 Volunteer Jam will go on sale on Dec. 8 at 10AM CT; visit VolunteerJamXX.com for more details.
