'I Saw the Light,' the upcoming biopic on the life of Hank Williams, just added two more cast members. Actors Bradley Whitford and Cherry Jones have both joined the cast, making it one of the most star-studded films to be released next year.

Whitford, who starred in 'The West Wing' and 'Saving Mr. Banks,' will play Fred Rose, the Nashville publisher who is credited with helping Williams achieve his level of success and became one of Williams' closest friends up until his death. Jones, who starred in '24' and 'Ocean's 12,' will play the role of Williams' mother, Lillie.

Whitford and Jones join Tom Hiddleston, who will play Williams; Elizabeth Olsen, who will play Audrey Williams; and Maddie Hasson, who will portray Billie Jean Horton, Williams’ second wife. Other actors appearing in the film include David Krumholtz, Josh Pais, James DuMont and Wrenn Schmidt.

This isn't the first biopic about a singer that Whitford has agreed to be a part of. He originally was cast in the Gregg Allman biopic 'Midnight Rider,' which was forced to stop production on the first day when crew member Sarah Jones was killed during filming. Whitford was slated to play manager Michael Lehman. A lawsuit against the director, producer, executive producer and assistant director is still pending.

'I Saw the Light' is currently in production in Louisiana. Marc Abraham, who wrote the screenplay, is directing, with Rodney Crowell serving as the musical producer. The film is slated for a 2015 release.
