It's been almost two years since Cassadee Pope released her freshman album, Frame By Frame, and the singer has revealed that she is hard at work on a new project.

"I’m writing a lot and in the studio a ton, just getting a bunch of demos together and really comparing," Pope tells The Boot. "I’ve written so much the past 8-9 months that my catalog is ginormous. It’s fun for me to kind of get to sift through and kind of get the best songs of the best."

Pope, who wrote five of the 11 songs on her debut record, hopes to write more of the tunes for her sophomore CD, with the help of some of her songwriter friends.

"That’s all I do," Pope says of her fondness for co-writing. "Especially living here, I’m able to text my friend and be like, ‘What are you doing today?’ and then go in the studio and start co-writing. I’ve been in with Ross Copperman, Jon Nite, Liz Rose, Zach Malloy -- a ton of my favorite people. I’m excited."

The Florida native had already earned plenty of fans thanks to her pop-punk band Hey Monday by the time she was declared the Season 3 winner of The Voice in 2012. It's because of them that Pope is eager to get her new set of tunes out to the public.

"I’m so lucky. I have a huge fan base from back in the day when I was in my old rock band, and they’ve continued to stick with me, and they love my music now," she says. "I haven’t left that behind. In reality, I can’t really. It’s just a part of me, so it feels good."

There is no word yet on when Pope's new album will be released.
