Carrie Underwood is a bona fide superstar, and if you didn't know it before, you will after seeing her on her current Storyteller Tour. From the stage itself to Underwood's outfits, every detail is grand and basically flawless -- but, really, would you expect anything less?

Not only does Underwood have Easton Corbin and the Swon Brothers opening her shows, she's also got a DJ on tour with her, spinning everything from Journey to Justin Timberlake, tossing out T-shirts and generally keeping the crowd entertained until that moment when the lights go out, the moving video screens form a tiered tower, and out comes the woman of the hour herself, like a figurine atop a massive wedding cake. And from that moment on, Underwood and her band lead the screaming crowd through a perfectly choreographed two-hour set of Storyteller tunes, smash hits and a couple classic country covers.

On Tuesday night (May 24) in Buffalo, N.Y., Underwood opened her show with Storyteller's "Renegade Runaway," before quickly moving into a mashup of "Last Name" and "Somethin' Bad," followed by "Undo It," "Good Girl" and her newest single, "Church Bells." The star is never afraid to belt out a song -- and the fact that she does so for a couple hours night after night is a testament to her truly powerhouse vocals -- but she especially shone on "Church Bells," before disappearing below the stage for one of the evening's multiple costume changes.

It must be said that Underwood knows how to pace a show: Upbeat tracks flowed into slower hits and back again, but the artist and her band never lost their momentum, nor the crowd's attention. During both "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats" -- one more serious, the other more fun -- the audience's singing nearly overtook Underwood's ... and she was happy to let her fans have the spotlight. A few of the evening's other big moments came during "Cowboy Casanova" (sung from atop a giant jukebox, because when you're Carrie Freakin' Underwood, why the heck not?), "Choctaw County Affair" (which gave Underwood the chance to show off her harmonica skills) and "What I Never Knew I Always Wanted" (accompanied by a sweet montage of photos of husband Mike Fisher and baby son Isaiah, as well as a heartfelt speech from Underwood about how one decision -- in her case, to audition for American Idol -- can change everything).

About two-thirds of the way through her set, Underwood took the time to pay her respects to those who came before her, first offering up a simple, stunning rendition of "I Will Always Love You."

"All of us women just want to be like Dolly [Parton] because she does everything, and she does it exceptionally well," Underwood told the crowd before taking on the tune (which readers can hear a snippet of by pressing play above). "So let's just have a moment and sing some Dolly Parton!"

Then, for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Fishin' in the Dark," Underwood began the song solo, then welcomed Corbin and the Swons to the stage to help her finish out the well-known and -loved song. Readers can press play below to watch a bit of the performance.

The Storyteller Tour heads to Ontario, Canada, this weekend (May 27-30), then will break before resuming in early September for another string of dates. Corbin and the Swon Brothers will continue on as Underwood's special guests.
