On Monday (Jan. 29), Carrie Underwood got pulled over for speeding -- for the first time ever, she says. Police recently released dashcam footage of Underwood's encounter with an officer, and the whole incident is ... well, incredibly polite.

Readers can press play above to see police dashcam footage of Underwood's traffic stop, obtained by Inside Edition. She was pulled over in Brentwood, Tenn., an upscale suburb of Nashville, around 10:23AM.

"What's the big hurry, ma'am?" the officer asks when he approaches Underwood's SUV.

"I wasn't even paying attention," Underwood tells him. She quickly adds, "I know that's no excuse."

Underwood received a verbal warning rather than a ticket; however, she clearly felt guilty about the whole incident, because she tweeted about it after it happened.

"Well, it happened today. After 18 years, I can no longer say I’ve never been pulled over for speeding," she tweeted on Monday morning. "I feel so ashamed! I may or may not have cried in my car after the cop let me go."

Underwood's tweets include the hashtags #RuleFollower, #GrannyDriver and #ImSorry.
