Carrie Underwood Partners With Operation Homefront to Honor Military Families During 2016 Tour
Through the partnership, Underwood will meet servicemembers and their families at 10 stops on her tour, which kicked off on Jan. 30 in Jacksonville, Fla. Carnival Cruise Line will also be recognizing military families on their ships with their "Honor. Family. Fun." program, which includes a special video message from the "Heartbeat" singer.
“I’m honored to be able to join Carnival Cruise Line and Operation Homefront to lift up these soldiers and their families,” Underwood says. “I am really looking forward to meeting them on my tour and for the opportunity to personally thank them for all they do for our freedom.”
Underwood is also set to host a concert honoring military families onboard one of Carnival's new cruise ships on Nov. 4 in the Port of New York City. The singer will continue her partnership with the cruise line into 2017, with more shows scheduled on their ships throughout the year.
“Military families represent a cornerstone of our country, and we are honored by the opportunity to partner with Carrie and Operation Homefront to bring much-needed awareness and aid to our troops and their loved ones,” Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, says. “The partnership will bring to life many of the heartwarming stories our troops have to share while in turn bringing them some fun along the way.”
