Carrie Underwood is going to kick off 2016 with a bang: The "Smoke Break" singer will headline New York City's televised Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest special, which begins at 8PM ET on Dec. 31 on ABC.

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than New York’s Times Square, one of the most magical places in the world, to ring in the new year,” Underwood says in a statement. “It’s going to be a memorable night, and I can’t wait to celebrate with the world!”

There is no word yet about who else will join Underwood in the performance lineup for the event. Last year's New Year's Rockin' Eve, which was televised from the Big Apple and Nashville, was headlined by Taylor Swift and included performances by Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Brantley Gilbert, Magic!, Gavin DeGraw and Elton John.

Underwood will have a busy 2016. The new mom will kick off her 2016 Storyteller Tour, in honor of her fifth studio album of the same name, on Jan. 30 in Jacksonville, Fla.

“I can’t wait to play new music from Storyteller for the fans,” Underwood says. “I am so blessed to have this career and get to do to the things I do, but there is nothing like that moment when I get to step onto the stage to sing and all the fans are singing along with me.”

Tickets for Underwood's Storyteller Tour will go on sale on Nov. 6, but fans who order the new record through her online store will receive access to an exclusive pre-sale. Dates and venue information are available on her website.
