Carrie Underwood performed a new song at the ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops event, which was held on Monday (April 7). The Oklahoma native debuted ‘Keep Us Safe’ at the taping, where she was joined on stage by members of the US military.

Underwood penned the song, which showcases her strong spiritual faith, along with Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey and Shane McAnally.

God keep us safe tonight,” she sang, “Keep our eyes toward the skies / Send down an army of angels / To make us brave / And keep us strong and unafraid / God keep us safe.”

While the songstress has revealed that she is hard at work on a new album, it’s unclear whether ‘Keep Us Safe’ is on the upcoming project or not.

For her ongoing efforts to help and support those in need, including her support of the Red Cross and the foundation she founded, C.A.T.S (Checotah Animal, Town and School), Underwood was honored with the Country Radio Broadcasters Artist Humanitarian Award earlier this year.

“I am super blessed and I’ve been given so much,” she says. “If I did nothing but buy shiny things and spend it on stupid things, I just don’t think my mama would be proud of that, I don’t think I could be proud of that and I don’t think the good Lord would be too proud of that.”

While the 31-year-old hasn’t given any details on when fans can expect a new album, she appears on Miranda Lambert‘s upcoming record, ‘Platinum.’ Underwood and Lambert duet on a song, ‘Somethin’ Bad.’

‘ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops,’ which also includes performances by Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Merle Haggard, Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, George Strait, Kellie PicklerKeith Urban, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line and the Band Perry, will air on Tuesday, May 20, at 9PM ET on CBS.
