Every Carrie Underwood fan has a favorite song -- including her husband, Mike Fisher. And since being married to the country superstar means getting to hear her new music early, the Nashville Predators hockey player has already selected his favorite track from his wife's upcoming album, Storyteller.

"He likes the ones that are about him," Underwood tells The Boot, laughing, "so maybe "What I Never Knew I Always Wanted.""

On a more serious note, she adds, "He definitely likes things that are more spiritual and serious -- you know, the things that can people can hear and be inspired or encouraged by."

And since Fisher loves the more inspirational and faith-based songs, Underwood admits, "I think it's a little harder for him to get into the a bit more aggressive songs."

Underwood's career took off with the No. 1 song "Jesus, Take the Wheel," and she's earned hits with other inspirational tunes, such as "See You Again" and "Temporary Home;" however, her success is also due to songs such as "Two Black Cadillacs" and "Before He Cheats." Underwood acknowledges that although her husband isn't necessarily bowled over by her more edgy tunes, they're a big part of who she is creatively.

"I don't ask his opinion," she admits, "but I expect his support."

So, will there be any songs on Storyteller that are reflective of Underwood's faith?

"It didn't quite happen," says the singer; rather, the record is "... in general a little more relational and about real life."

Though her faith is incredibly important to her, Underwood doesn't want to force it into her work.

"I'm never going to force it and say, 'We need a faith-based song,' because it will work its way into my career regardless because that's part of me," she explains, "but it didn't quite happen this time."

Storyteller is set for release on Friday (Oct. 23). It is available for pre-order on Amazon and iTunes.
