Though Carrie Underwood is now happily married to NHL star Mike Fisher, the singer hasn't always had the greatest luck in love.

In a recent feature she wrote for Australia's Sydney Morning Herald, the 28-year-old beauty reveals that she was attracted to bad boys from an early age, and that her first kiss was with a baggy pants-clad skater, who appealed to her because he was "dangerous."

"My first kiss happened at 14. It was with a skater guy who had long hair and baggy jeans," she writes. "He didn't live in my town, and I was attracted to him because he was different from the other boys at school ... at that time he was as dangerous as I could get."

Following her first kiss, Carrie experienced her first and last heartbreak, when her college boyfriend dumped her. "My first relationship didn't last long, however, and was the first and last time I ever got dumped. It taught me a lot about myself, that I didn't like getting my heart broken and that sometimes people don't love you back."

While her 2005 'American Idol' victory was a major turning point for her professionally, the Oklahoma native's newfound fame further complicated her love life, intimidating "normal guys," while she found celebrities too busy to foster a nurturing relationship with.

"Winning 'American Idol' in 2005 made it very difficult for me to meet guys. Not only that, but it was difficult to try to figure out what kinds of guys I should date," Carrie admits. "Right after winning, I went out with a guy from back home. He was the sweetest guy and perfect in so many ways, but he couldn't handle what I did. He couldn't deal with me being away so much and that I made the money, so after a few months I had to end it. If I tried to date a guy who was in the music business or who was an actor, that wouldn't work out either because, similarly, he was off doing his thing or I was off doing mine."

With Mike Fisher, to whom she has been married for almost a year now, Carrie has found the perfect balance of support and understanding, despite his hectic travel schedule during the NHL season.

"Mike is the most instrumental man in my career. He is the one who is there with me. He is the one who hears my songs before anybody else and the person I now make decisions with. I've never had to ask anyone...not for permission, but to make sure that it's okay if I go away for a week to sing at a festival or concert. He's the one I now turn to," Carrie continues, revealing plans to someday have a "normal" life with her family, once she has achieved her career goals.

"Right now we both love our careers and what we do, but have shared family goals for the future. We are in the process of buying some property in Tennessee and someday I want to have a farm and be able to have wonderful friends and be a good sister [Underwood has two sisters] and a good daughter," she concludes. "Once our careers have run their course, I am looking forward to just being normal and trying to do some good in the world."

Carrie is currently working on her long-awaited fourth album.
