Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley Take CMA Vocalist Honors
Carrie Underwood stakes claim to the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year award for the third year in a row. The CMA show co-host won the trophy just after performing her latest hit, 'Just a Dream.'
"Mama, it is real hard to sing when you're in the second row crying," Underwood said to her mom, as she took the stage. "Thank you country music! I got here in an unconventional way, and you've accepted me and have been so great."
Underwood's CMA co-host Brad Paisley is the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row. Paisley kissed his pregnant wife Kimberly's belly just before accepting his award.
"Thank you to my fans, my wife, my son," Paisley said, keeping his acceptance speech brief, as he'd "already talked too much!"
Paisley also found out just before the show that his new album, 'Play,' debuted at No. 1 on the album charts.
