Carolyn Dawn JohnsonCongratulations to Carolyn Dawn Johnson and her husband, Matt Fisher, who became proud parents for the second time on Wednesday (Feb. 3). Carolyn Dawn's new bundle of joy arrived a few weeks earlier than planned, but that was certainly alright with the glowing new mom.

"I had finished a co-write earlier on Tuesday with the new group Stealing Angels," Carolyn Dawn tells The Boot. "I went home and took a nap and woke up with contractions. It went on from there. I guess he wanted to meet us as soon as possible!"

Bennett Derwin (Bennett meaning "blessed," and Derwin meaning "friendly" -- which was also the name of Carolyn's late brother) weighed in at 6lbs. 5oz and measured 19 1/4 inches long.

"I was in labor for a pretty hard 24 hours," the singer-songwriter says. "Matt was a great coach. I had an all-natural birth. There were exhausting moments when I wasn't sure I was going to make it. When they put him on my stomach, it happened so fast that no one had seen if it was a boy or a girl. I said, 'Is it a boy or a girl?' and Matt was like, 'I don't know!' The midwife had to turn the baby over, and then Matt announced it was a boy. It was pretty awesome at that point!"

Little Bennett joins big sister Abigail, who is 16-months-old and still adjusting to not being the youngest baby in the house. "She was not sure about him shortly after his birth, but today she wanted to touch him and be around him. She gave her sign language signal for 'more' after he let out a cry. She wanted him to keep making noise I guess! She realized he is real. He has the sweetest little cry. We are in love and excited he is here ... He is so worth everything!"
