Canaan Smith Uses Life on the Road To Inspire Songs [VIDEO]

Singer/songwriter Canaan Smith has spent a lot of time touring in the past few years — playing at festivals, as the opening act on big tours and soon, on a cruise ship. So it makes sense that he’d draw inspiration from those experiences.

“I’ve been on the road for the last couple years, played a lot of bars,” Smith tells The Boot. “You get the chance to see a lot of things, be a fly on the wall, you know?”

After observing a bartender in one of those bars, Smith came up with the song ‘Feel Something.’

“There was this girl one time, she was bartending, and I couldn’t help but notice she didn’t seem very happy,” he says. “She’s the inspiration for this song.”

Smith, who appeared on a season of ‘The Amazing Race,’ will join Florida Georgia Line on their This is How We Cruise festival in November. WYRK.com has more videos of his performance.
