Cam will take the stage at the University of Nevada in early 2017 -- but not to sing. The rising country star has been selected to give a TED Talk at the 2017 TEDxUniversityOfNevada event.

TEDxUniversityOfNevada is a local, independently-organized offshoot of the national TED program of talks. "At our TEDxUniversityofNevada event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group," the TEDxUniversityOfNevada website explains. Cam hasn't revealed what topic she will speak about, but in addition to her talk, she will also perform during the event.

“I’ve been watching TED Talks for years. And, I’ve applied the shared ideas to my life countless times,” Cam says (quote via Sounds Like Nashville). “It’s honestly some of the best content on the internet. People sharing new ideas through storytelling … it’s like college without the debt! I am so humbled and thrilled that I get to contribute to this beautiful resource.”

TEDxUniversityOfNevada is scheduled to take place on Jan. 21, 2017, at the Grand Sierra Resort's Grand Theater, located in Reno, Nev. It will be the fifth TEDxUniversityOfNevada event.

Cam is currently out on the road, serving as the opening act on Dierks Bentley‘s Somewhere on a Beach Tour. A list of all of Cam’s upcoming shows is available on her website.
