Brad Pitt May Take on ‘Killer’ Role as Jerry Lee Lewis

Rock and country music legend Jerry Lee Lewis will be the subject of a new biopic, with Brad Pitt currently in talks to star as "the Killer," according to Consequence of Sound. Natalie Portman has reportedly been cast as the famed piano man's underage cousin who became his teenage bride.

Director Terrence Malick ('Badlands,' 'The Thin Red Line,' 'Days of Heaven') is set to direct, although when shooting begins remains unclear, as does the official title of the film.

Jerry Lee Lewis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. He was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine at No. 24 on their list of the '100 Greatest Artists of All Time' in 2004. The iconic entertainer's 2003 box set, 'All Killer, No Filler: The Anthology' was also recognized by Rolling Stone in 2003 as No. 239 on their list of the '500 Greatest Albums of All Time.' In 1989, Dennis Quaid played Jerry Lee in the big-screen biopic, 'Great Balls of Fire!,' with Winona Ryder in the role of his young bride, Myra.

The title track of the Killer's latest album, 'Mean Old Man,' was written by Kris Kristofferson. His 2006 disc, album, 'Last Man Standing,' features appearances by Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Ringo Starr, John Mayer, Eric Clapton and James Burton.
