Brad Paisley will head to the nation's capital on Wednesday (July 4) for a special Independence Day concert in recognition of U.S. service members. The West Virginia native has been tapped to perform for the fourth annual USO "Salute to the Military" concert on the South Lawn of the White House.

"The Fourth of July has always been about family, freedom and celebration," notes the husband and father of two. "I am so honored to be spending my holiday performing a USO concert for our troops and their families and to be celebrating those freedoms with the men and women who put everything on the line to defend them."

The event, which is expected to host more than 1,200 troops and military families, will be streamed live on the White House website. Attendees will also be treated to barbecue, family-friendly games, fireworks and a performance by the U.S. Marine Band.

In 2009, Brad, alongside Alison Krauss, participated in the White House Music Series, hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama.

Brad is spending this summer on the road with his Virtual Reality world tour, joined by the Band Perry, Scotty McCreery, Love and Theft, Jana Kramer and Kristen Kelly. Keep track of his tour schedule here.
