Brad Paisley has some big-name guests on his new album, 'Play,' out Tuesday (Nov. 4) – Keith Urban, B.B. King, Andy Griffith, Vince Gill, Steve Wariner – but there's one he wanted and didn't get: former Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler.

"We almost did a song together on this album, but he was on tour," Paisley says. "I actually went and saw him at the Ryman Auditorium, got to meet him."

Knopfler has worked with other country artists in the past, most notably Emmylou Harris and the late Chet Atkins. So expect a collaboration between him and Paisley in the future.

"We've talked about it," Paisley says. "I'd love to do something one of these days. It just didn't work out. That's OK. This was so full of stuff, it'll be a nice thing to save for later."
