Brad Paisley Turns ‘Love and War’ Into Country Music’s First Visual Album

Ahead of the release of his newest album, Love and War, Brad Paisley began sharing music videos for some of the record’s songs — and now, fans know why. On Monday (April 24), Paisley announced that he’s turning Love and War into country music’s first visual album.

Paisley shared his plans for the visual album in a Facebook post on Monday afternoon. The visual version of Love and War will be available on Apple Music on Friday (April 28), though the singer hints that some lucky fans may get an advance look at it on Wednesday (April 26). The Tennessean reports that Paisley screened the full slate of videos for some country radio and industry executives at the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday (April 23).

“I told the label, I said, ‘Well, you know, as much of a wonderful experience as it’s been to watch [the music video for “Today,” Paisley’s first single from Love and War] resonate with people, I think we could do the same thing with all these other songs in different way,'” Paisley tells the Morning Hangover. “And they sort of said, ‘Yeah right,’ and that’s all I needed to hear.”

10 Must-Hear Country Concept Albums

The video that Paisley posted with his announcement shows clips from the videos he’s already released — “Today,” “Selfie#TheInternetIsForever,” “Heaven South” and “Last Time for Everything” — as well as snippets of videos that fans haven’t yet seen. Viewers will see Paisley playing a house party, performing in a mall and working in the studio with collaborators Mick Jagger and Bill Anderson, among other shots.

Paisley officially released Love and War on April 21. The record contains 16 songs, including collaborations with Jagger, Anderson, John Fogerty and Timbaland; Johnny Cash is a co-writer on “Gold All Over the Ground,” which adapts a poem of the same name, written by Cash, into a song.

On Sunday, Paisley celebrated his new album’s release with a show at Tootsie’s in Nashville.
