Brad Paisley Offers Moving Tribute to Cancer Victim
Brad Paisley made a surprise appearance at a memorial service for one of his fans in Orange County, Calif., on Monday.
When Allison Greene was in the process of her two-year battle with cancer, she told her husband and friends when she beat it, she wanted to throw a big party and have Brad perform as the entertainment.
The 31-year-old mother of one lost her battle, and her family felt the party should still take place to celebrate her memory, which, according to her husband, was always filled with joy and a zest for life. Greene’s family posted a video about the memorial on Facebook, hoping the CMA Entertainer of the Year would see it and show up at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills, Calif.
“When I was watching the video, it brought me to tears, and I thought, ‘Man, if I could just be there,'” Brad told those who attended the memorial. “So they said, ‘Will you be there, Brad, Monday the 7th in Orange County?’ and I thought, ‘Yeah. I am going to be there.'”
Allison’s husband, Brian, got a surprise phone call, giving him some great news. “I got a call from Brad Paisley saying he was going to come, because when he saw that video, he was inspired by Allie,” he tells the local ABC-TV affiliate KABC. “It does show how big of a heart he has.”
Brad is currently off the road, putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album, ‘This is Country Music,’ due to hit stores May 24. He’ll perform March 19 at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo before his H20 II: Wetter and Wilder World tour kicks off May 28 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
