Brad Paisley Admits He’s Not Cut Out for ‘The Voice’

Brad Paisley is getting ready to kick of his H2O II: Wetter & Wilder tour, along with buddy Blake Shelton, who will perform opening act duties. But while Brad will run the show while on the road, he says he tips his hat to Blake for doing one job he would never be able to fulfill.

"I haven't actually seen 'The Voice,' but I would never do it," the singer-songwriter admits to Us Weekly, of the hit NBC show on which Blake coaches contestants (along with Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera). "I would probably hate it. I'm not cut out for that since I don't enjoy making commentary and I don't enjoy the process of evaluating other singers. I cringe when I hear a bad singer. I was one of those people at one point and sometimes still am. I'm just not comfortable doing it. Compared to Blake, I am more afraid to say what I think."

'The Voice,' which was just renewed for a second season, with all four celebrity judges returning, is one of the highest-rated new shows on NBC. But while Brad says he isn't cut out for a televised role that requires him to be brutally honest, the husband of actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley reveals he was working on a show for the CW network, along with 'Heroes' actor Zach Quinto and producer Neal Dodson.

"That has morphed into something else," the father of two boys admits. "We're working on a project for another network. You know how networks are ... they'll say, well what if you did this with it, or that with it. I think something is going to wind up on the air eventually."

Meanwhile, Brad has plenty to keep him busy. His new tour kicks off on June 4, in Hartford, Conn., with Jerrod Niemann also serving as an opening act, and Darius Rucker joining on select dates. Brad's latest single, 'Old Alabama,' from his brand-new CD, 'This Is Country Music,' marks his 17th No. 1 hit. See his tour schedule here.
