It's official: Blake Shelton will again be a coach on Season 8 of 'The Voice,' the NBC singing competition that's borne burgeoning country stars like Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery.

The show confirmed next season's judges Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine via Twitter on Tuesday (Oct. 14), saying, "OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Say HELLO to your Season 8 coaches! @adamlevine @Pharrell @xtina @blakeshelton #TheVoice."

Currently, 'The Voice' is airing Season 7's pre-taped episodes and will move into live rounds in a few weeks with coaches Shelton, Levine, Pharrell and Gwen Stefani. But they aren't the only stars on the show: Taylor Swift is acting as an advisor in the current season, and apparently, like everything else she touches, she's been absolutely terrific at it.

“She had great feedback for all the contestants. She made for an amazing mentor," said a source.

Even though Shelton has been a mainstay on the show for quite a while, he didn't set out to be a television star.

“It wasn't planned out,” he admits. “Ironically enough, over the years of being a Nashville country artist, I always had people tell me, ‘Hey, you should be on TV. You need to be a comedian or something like that.’ But it was never something I pursued or talked about. When ‘The Voice’ just kind of fell into my lap, I don’t know if I’m one of those people who believes in meant-to-be or not, but it sure seemed like that’s what it was, because it does feel natural for me to do this.”

In addition to being a winning coach on 'The Voice,' the 'Boys 'Round Here' hitmaker also has been winning in another area of his life -- his country music career. Nominated for the 2014 CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year, Shelton won the honor in 2012 and is looking to do so again -- but not if his wife, Miranda Lambert, also a nominee, can help it.
