Blake Shelton resumed his role as a coach for the second season of NBC's hit TV show 'The Voice' Sunday night (Feb. 5), immediately following the Super Bowl. The 'Drink on It' singer, who is joined by Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5's Adam Levine in the mentors' red swivel chairs, says he has high hopes for this season, for one particular reason.

"I'm most excited about Season 2 of 'The Voice,' because there are some country singers this year that are really good," Blake tells People magazine. "We had a few last year, but we didn't end up with a country singer in the final four. I know anything can happen, but I really believe in my heart that one of several country singers that we have on our show this year have a shot at winning the whole thing."

If Sunday's debut is any indication, the Oklahoma native may be proven right. He already secured 17-year-old country hopeful RaeLynn (who sang 'Hell on Heels' by Blake's wife Miranda Lambert's all-girl group, Pistol Annies) for his team, in spite of a jab from Adam intended to sway the teenager to his team instead.

"Why would you wanna be just a country star, wouldn't you wanna be more than that?" the 'Moves Like Jagger' singer asked.

"I may be just a country star, but I'm kicking @adamlevine's rockstar ass," Blake responded via Twitter. Apparently, RaeLynn's performance also earned the approval of Blake's missus as well, who offered her own support. "@PistolAnnies song 'Hell on Heels' opened @NBCTheVoice!" she tweeted. "Thanks to @RaeLynnOfficial. What a cutie!! And a badass! We love u!"

Although Blake scored RaeLynn, he lost soulful singer Jesse Campbell, who wowed all four coaches, and ultimately decided to take a spot with Team Christina. He also wanted to secure former Mickey Mouse Club member Tony Lucca, who also impressed all four coaches, before deciding to join Adam's team.

Last night's debut on 'The Voice' wasn't Blake's only chance to shine on the small screen. He also appeared in a hilarious commercial with his fellow 'Voice' mentors and Hollywood legend Betty White during Super Bowl XLVI, and performed 'America the Beautiful' with his wife prior to kick-off.

Blake will continue his Well Lit & Amplified tour this Thursday (Feb. 9), with a show in Erie, Pa. See his tour schedule here.

He'll also head to Los Angeles for this Sunday's (Feb. 12) Grammy Awards telecast, where he is nominated for three trophies, including Best Country Solo Performance ('Honey Bee'). The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Staples Center, Sunday at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
