In a recent interview, Blake Shelton admits he makes the same New Year's resolution every year -- then ends up breaking it.

Taste of Country reports that Shelton and the USO Show Troupe Choir partnered on Dec. 19 for a surprise acoustic holiday performance in Greeley Square in New York City, which was hosted by JCPenney.

In behind-the-scenes footage from the event, the 'Sure Be Cool If You Did' singer admitted he has made the same New Year's resolution every year for 20 years -- to clean up his language and drink less. Both of those are noble aspirations for the country star, whose wife, Miranda Lambert, admits she sometimes un-follows him on Twitter for periods because of his penchant for drunk tweeting.

But Shelton is quick to add that he always ends up reverting to normal -- much to the amusement of his fans, who follow his sometimes profanity-laden tweets with a great deal of enthusiasm.

The JCPenney event, which included Jamie Chung from 'The Hangover,' also featured animation, with virtual carolers singing 'Silent Night.' It was all part of a promotion in which JCP invited aspiring vocalists to "join the jingle" by uploading footage of themselves singing the classic Christmas hymn.
