Blake Shelton Reveals Title, Cover + Release Date for New Album
In a surprise move, Blake Shelton has revealed the details for a new studio album that will drop this fall.
The singer-songwriter and star of ‘The Voice‘ appeared on ‘The Today Show’ Friday morning (Aug. 1), where he announced the news.
Titled ‘Bringing Back the Sunshine,’ Shelton’s eleventh studio album is set for release on Sept. 30 via Warner Bros. There’s no word yet on the track listing, but the album’s rather somber cover hints at a serious tone to the new project. The cover depicts a water tower bearing the word “Ada,” which is Shelton’s home town in Oklahoma. The sky above the water tower is cloudy and threatening, but the sun is beginning to break through.
Shelton staged a televised benefit concert, ‘Healing in the Heartland,’ after tornadoes struck Oklahoma in 2013.
His previous album, ‘Based on a True Story…,’ was released in March of 2013. The album has placed a slew of hit singles, including ‘Boys ‘Round Here,’ ‘Sure Be Cool if You Did,’ ‘Doin’ What She Likes’ and ‘Mine Would Be You.’ His current single, ‘My Eyes,’ features former ‘The Voice’ contestant Gwen Sebastian. ‘Based on a True Story…’ has been certified platinum.
Shelton has not revealed the titles of any of the songs from the upcoming project, or the first single.
‘Bringing Back the Sunshine’ is currently available for pre-order through Walmart.
